White Dots On My Viewing Screen

My viewing screen is filled with white dots.  My set is roughly five years old (purchased Oct 17,2007).  White dots began appearing March 2012.  At first a few (three).  Now the viewing screen is filled with them so much so that one can barely make out the picture.  Is there a manufacturer fix?  I understand there was a defective chip on these sets.  Am I eligible for a replacement chip/repair?
