Toshiba, How To Remove The Cover To Check The Ir Sensor.
My Toshiba 32AV500U TV IR sensor no longer works. I verified the remote works by shining the remote on my smart phone camera and I see the flash. How do I get to the IR sensor to clean the sensor? Can I change out the part without soldering? Thanks.

Simple question before you start dis-assembling the TV. Do you or your partner use polish around the TV? If you do then try cleaning around the area of the sensor with an alcohol based cleaner to remove any polish. I have come across this before and it is an eye opener.
However if you do have to clean the IR reciever then the back cover will need to be removed. Lay the TV face down on a soft surface and remove the back screws. Make sure it is disconnected from the power before doing anything. The IR sensor will most likely be on a small PC board at the bottom of the screen.
