Green Hue On Sony Kds-r50xbr1

TV WAS PURCHASED AT CIRCUIT CITY APROX. 4-5 YEARS AGO. THE MAUFACTURE DATE IS 2006. I KNOW THERE WAS SOME SORT OF RECALL IN 2009 BUT WAS UNAWARE OF IT AT THE TIME. STARTED GOING GREEN ABOUT 4 WEEKS AGO THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE THE LAMP. BUT NOW AM AWARE OF THE ACTUAL ISSUE. IS THERE ANY HOPE AT THIS POINT ?

This is a well known problem and for some time Sony had extended the warranty to pay for a replacement optical engine. This extended time frame has expired for many years, but I know that if you contact them they will give you a deal on replacing it with a new model (cut rate price).
