Anyone Else Having Trouble With The Quality Of The Sound On The Sony Kdl46hx820?

Replaced a 3 year old Bravia just for the updated version. The sound from this TV is no comparrison to prior Sony. It's a muted sound lacking bass. As if it was an old stereo on the mono setting. I've spent hours on the phone with tech and changing settings with minimal improvement. Any suggestions? The surround sound works fine and with this picture I can tell this is one heck of a tv, just curious if ours is defective or is this just reality of the new LED?

I searched the sony site for known issues and there are no audio issues. I have seen some sets that when the stand screws have pinched wires to the speakers since the wiring runs through that area. Normally if you listen to both left and right speakers carefully, if there is a wiring problem, you will notice one side is bad. I do know that many of the newer sets have complaints of inferior audio and this is because the thin profile limits the speake size. The XBR series is always a better choice, and maybe that is what you had before. Sound bars are always an option.
