How Do I Backup & Replay?

My boss dictated a memo, transferred the audio to his computer and emailed it to me.  I can download the file and hear the dictation, but I need to be able to stop the dictation and back it up while transcribing.  I am able to stop the audio, but hitting rewind takes it back to the beginning.  I only need to go back to the beginning of a sentence.  Help!
