Having got the leads yesterday afternoon I plugged it in and Bingo, it worked.
A couple of hours later the sound dropped out for 30 seconds and thereafter more frequently, and for longer and longer periods, which I eventually manged to cure by pulling out one of the jacks and re-inserting it. Continually having to do that was a bore, and my heart sank, a faulty uinit (which I got cheaply, as refurbished, I thought).
Until then I was using the TV at volume 10 for a quite satisfactory sound, and louder than that was too loud, and because the system is way better than the wholly inadequate tinny, diostorted (a 42" flat panel) TV speakers.
Fiddling with the sound bar remote, I noted that the volume was @40, so I reduced it to 18, and had to up the TV souund (via the TV hand set). Acceptable to me worked out at 18-20 (on the TV). I seem to recall something about impedence in sound equipment, maybe that. I do not know.
The speakers have now been on continuously now for 10 hours, with nary a drop out. So it is possible that the high sound bar volume is possibly, I am speculating at this point, somehow feeds back or overloads the sound bar system.
So far, as adjusted, I have had no further problem. BUT early days, and as a precaution I have reported it to the Vendors, a well known supermarket chain. Try it.
