Schwinn 470 Eliptical Monitor Calibration

I don't believe my monitor. I can walk 3 miles on the ground in one hour and not break a sweat. I can spend an hour on this thing, running, drenched in sweat and it says I've only covered 3 miles. I've tried a few other similar machines and cover 7 miles in 1 hour. I have my personal stuff entered, weight, age, etc. What's the deal here?
