How do I get the tv to read my USB

There can be two reasons this isn't going to work.......

1) the IPAD USB does not export audio/video through USB.

2) the USB port on your TV is not rated for audio/video but for connecting a flash drive with JPEG files on it only.

NOW.....If the IPAD you have has HDMI out port for this purpose. So all you need is an HDMI cable with a mini-HDMI connector on one end(and the regular HDMI connection on the other might solve your problem

Go into your TV menu or settings & make sure the the usb is enabled!
