I Have A Sanyo Plasma Tv Model #dp42849.

When I turn the set on half the screen is black until the tv warms up. You can also put a little pressure on each side of the top of the tv and this straightens it out sometimes. As the tv warms up the color will pop in, in vertical lines. then the tv will clear up and all is well till you turn the tv on again.

Sounds like it is your inverter. I have a model DP42849 and the tv repair shop said it is the inverter.
