Can I Permanently Deactivate Child Lock On Top Loader?

We have the Samsung WA456/WA422/WA400 top loader washer. I would like to permanently deactivate the child lock feature; we do not need it and it is a pain to have to fool with it every wash. Can it be turned off altogether?? I have pressed the two buttons for 3 seconds as directed in the manual, but the lock reactivates with every new load. Please help. Thanks in advance.
