How To Clear A Tray 1 Paper Mismatch Error Message

I suddenly got a Tray 1 Paper Mismatch error message in my SL-C1860FW printer. I have only printed around 1100 pages in all and it has given me so many problems, that I am convinced this is a piece of trash. I have gone through all the settings possibilities that I can think of and followed all the configuration guidelines and nothing, the message is still there. I think this could be a Hardware issue, is there a paper sensor that identifies the size of the paper in the tray or something?Any help is much appreciated.

How do I fix paper mismatch error?

Remove and reload the paper in the input trays, and then check the paper source setting.

Remove all the paper from all the printer input trays.

Reload the paper, and then adjust the paper width guides so they gently rest against the edge of the paper stack.
