How To Hard Reset Sgh T959

First make sure the battery is fully charged and once you start the recovery process do not stop and start over or you could easily brick your phone.
If you are just wanting to do a factory reset do it thru the menu as its a much safer way to restore the system files.
settings > privacy > factory data reset
The following is how to restore the phone thru the recovery mode menu and should only be done this way if its absolutely needed as there is no safety net. If you mess up, its messed up.
Enter recovery mode with the phone off(pull the battery if necassary) hold "volume up+volume down+power" and then release the buttons at the 2nd occurrence of the Vibrant logo.
Highlight and select “Yes - Delete All User Data” to confirm the reset, then wait.
When you see “Delete All Cache Data” on the screen, highlight and select the option, and then wait.
Select “Reboot System Now” when it appears on the screen to restart your phone.
