Dc Adapter

My computer got dropped about 6 inches onto carpet, and it landed on the power cable. The DC adapter seems to be slightly depressed...just enough that the power cable WILL charge, but it will not stay connected to the computer. It used to "snap into place" somewhat, and now it just slides right back out if I move the computer at all. Is there something I can do to fix it myself? Or do I need to have the DC adapter part replaced? If so, how much does that cost?
