Confused???

My 42" samsung will play something good for awhile and then turn blue. Wheather it is a movie, cable or games will do it. How do I fix this?

There are somethings that comes to mind, These sets have the famous capacitor problems on the power supply board. When these capacitors go bad, the symptoms can as varied, and this is the first thing that needs to be checked out.Tke the back cover off and confirm that all the capacitors (cylindrical shaped components of various sizes) Visually inspect the tops for obvios expansion, and take you finger to the tops to feel if any of them are puffed up. If any are then they are bad and needs replacing. If there are no bad ones then, is the bright blue screen like when there is no signal, or is it a slight glow that has a bluish hue?

In the first case you still have OSD (on-screen-display). If this is the case then you probably have a "Main" board failure in the input selection circuit, since you have tried so many different sources (and what's the chance that they're all bad unless they all have been hooked to the same input).

If you have the second case then you will not have any OSD, just the slight glow and audio. This could be the output stage of the "main" board, the "T-con" board, the LCD panel, or the LVDS cable that hooks the "main" to the "T-con".
