Why does my tv reverts back to 16:9 If I put wide fit mode ? Any help

16:9 is considered the "standard" wide screen, meaning the unexpanded screen shape seen in most movies starting in 1953. (This excludes extra-wide screens like CinemaScope.More modern movies very often have an extra-wide screen.) If your movie is wider than 16:9 you'll need to use a different mode.

Your cable box/satellite receiver may have its own set of screen sizes as well. Wide Fit: Enlarges the aspect ratio of the picture to fit the entire screen. You may also need to update your firmware.
