White Dots

Samsung customer service rep just advised me that my unit model HLT-5656W is not on samsung's white dots policy list and my unit is experiencing this issues as well as many other units as i can see online. help please!!

the problem is the DLP chip failing (this is a TI device used in ALL the DLP's on the market): http://www.shopjimmy.com/samsung-4719-001969-dlp-chip.htm

Samsung, Toshiba, Mitsubishi, etc all have this problem. These chips are now available separately (before you had to purchase the entire optical engine to fix). the labor to install and align is the shop is $250-$300
