Replacing the pc board of a hard drive will not restore the drive correctly. Each board has an eprom which stores the information unique to that drive, Bad sectors and formatting information. One has to remove the eprom and fit it to another controller card. Basically "clone" the drive info. There are companies that supply these boards for drives. Do an internet search for controller boards and you should find one. You can also send your controller to them and they will copy the information from your controller to a new board and return them to you. When I needed to recover 500gb of photos some time ago this is what I had to do. Cost was around $50 then for a new controller.
