Scan To Folder To A Desktop Without A Network

Is the copier connected to the computer via a network (Ethernet) cable, or USB cable?  If it's a USB cable you won't be able to do scan to folder.

If it's an Ethernet cable, create a new folder on your computer.  This process will vary depending on which operating system you're using.  In Windows, open up My Computer (or Computer in Vista or Windows 7), go to the C: drive, and right click in the empty space and select New Folder.  Then edit the folder's properties to make the folder shared, and give everyone access to write to or modify the folder's contents.

Once you've created the folder, you'll need to create an address book entry on the copier for that folder.  Press User Tools/Counter and then go to System Settings > Administrator Tools > Address Book Management > New Program.  Enter a name for the destination, then go to the Folder tab and either browse to the folder location or type the folder path in.  Hit OK when you are done to save the destination.

Then exit out of User Tools.  Now you can press the Scanner button, put a document in the document feeder, select the scan folder from the list on the screen, and press Start.
