Hi, the best way to reset the MP C4500 (so you don't cause any hard drive problems) is to push the round green button on the right side of the operation panel. The screen will go off, and the button should start blinking. After a few seconds, the button should stop blinking and go off. Once that happens, turn off the main power switch (the orange switch to the left of the first paper tray), wait a few seconds, then flip it back on.
Note that if the copier is in the middle of receiving a fax or print job, or if there is a paper jam, this method may not work.
