Try this-

RCA LCD TV Unlock

To unlock RCA TV you must have its original remote control. A universal remote might not work for this purpose

Try the following proceedings. One among them will surely unlock your RCA TV.

* Hold down the Menu button on the remote control, and Vol DN button on the front panel of the TV simultaneously for about 5 seconds. The set won't say so, but the lock will be unlocked.

** Hold down the [0] Zero, button on the remote control, and Vol DN button on the front panel of the TV simultaneously for about 5 seconds. The TV won't say so, but the lock will be unlocked.

Unplug TV from wall plug for 60 seconds-Hold power button for 60 seconds while you plug in TV.

Jade uses this one--Press and hold both 'vol' and 'menu' on TV side panel.

Continue hold while pressing and releasing 'power' on the panel. Release the hold after a count to 5.

A model number is needed to determine the unlock procedure, but most likely you will need a remote to unlock most TV's. Below is a common lock procedure.

You will need a remote to unlock the FPA:

1. Press MENU to see the main menu.

2. Press CH+ or CH- to highlight Preferences.

3. Press OK to enter the Preferences submenu.

4. Press CH+ or CH- to highlight FPA (Front Panel) Lock.

5. Press VOL+ or VOL- to turn on or off FPA Lock.

Choose On to disable all the buttons on the front of the TV. FPA Lock On will appear on the TV screen each time you press buttons on the front of the TV. You can still operate the TV with the remote control. You can still use the POWER button on the front of the TV, but only to turn off the TV (not on). Set FPA Lock to Off to cancel this feature so you can use the buttons on the front of the TV again.

6. Press MENU repeatedly to exit the menu or the menu will automatically disappear within a few seconds if no buttons are pressed-
or this-
Faulty Capacitors

If your LCD TV or monitor has stopped working, or is displaying one of the following symptoms, then it's a candidate for some new capacitors

- Flickering screen

- Screen image disappears after several seconds

- Dim screen

- Slow start

- Power LED on, but no picture

- Unusual colors and/or lines

The primary cause of LCD TV and monitor failure is caused by faulty capacitors. You can examine the capacitors in your LCD TV or monitor and actually see if they are bad.

If they appear bulged on top, then they need to be replaced.

New capacitors will solve a host of problems in LCD monitors and TV's and will extend the life of your monitor or TV by several years.

Check the cables, connectors and connections.
