Will the DVP3340V/17 remote work with this one too?  Are they interchangeable?

No. The remote that you are trying to use will not work your Philips DVP3345V device because it is pre-program with that device only. You have to use a compatible remote control which can be purchased online. Here are the product links for your easy purchasing.
