Top Thread Getting Stuck And Both Thread Tensions Incredibly High.

Hello, I apologize that I probably won't explain this very well as I'm still a beginning sewer. I have a quilt expression 4.0 and when I try to sew it makes a harsh clunk noise and both threads are super tight. I've tried adjusting the tension to both of them, and it had no effect. I've cleaned my machine of lint and any extra thread. When I bring my needle down to try to catch the bobbin, the top thread gets caught right under the plate, and creating high tension on both, that is if it even catches the bobbin. I believe my hook timing is on because the hook catches the top thread, but as soon as it should come back up from the bobbin case it gets stuck. This is driving me insane!

Why does my upper thread keep jamming?

Lack of tension on the upper thread

However certain you are that the problem with the machine is most likely due to a huge tangled mess of thread in the bobbin underneath the fabric, the most common reason for the jamming is usually the lack of sufficient tension in the upper thread.
