My Pfaff 4872 Serger Is Running Very Rough.

When I try to stitch with my 4872 serger it is jerky when you speed it up. The stitches form right but it sounds like something is catching in the machine. How long does the self lubrication in it last?

You may have to adjust the presser foot pressure--see https://www.manualslib.com/manual/504967/Pfaff-Coverlock-4872.html?page=33#manual. The documentation does not say how long the oiling (or the cleaning) is supposed to last, beyond saying you should oil when you clean. For further explanation, you'll have to consult Pfaff. (You can if necessary find contact information at https://www.contacthelp.com.)
