External Cooling Missing Or Not On Back Of Blu-ray

I noticed an circle opening on the back of my blu-ray,hence is an opening for a cooling fan and would this cause the system to turn off immediatly after powering up system due to missing cooling fan enclosure.

No, there's no external fan. It's the grill for the internal fan, if it's not running it would probably shutdown to keep the unit from overheating.
