Panasonic Rrus551 Short Battery Life
My new RRUS551 MP3 voice recorder seems to have a defect that draws excessive power from the AAA batteries. A set will last only 2 hrs, even if the unit is off (i.e. set to "Hold"). The large Toshiba LSI chip inside is warm to the touch whenever batteries are installed, and the case warms up in the vicinity of this circuitry. The unit records OK, but only until the batteries are exhausted (under 2 hrs).
