Messages Not Recorded
If a call is not answered, a message sounding like an operator says, "if you'd like to make a call... Then the phone beeps continuously until I go around and manually hang up each handset. How do I correct this.

If your telephone requires a power supply check that the power is on and that you have the power adaptor correctly plugged into a known working mains socket and also to the telephone.

Check that the answering machine is turned On and set to Answer and Record mode (if you have Answer Only mode set the answering machine will not record messages).
When the answering machine is On, you'll see an answering machine On indicator either as an icon on the display or a light indicator. This will vary depending on the phone you have, see youruser guide for the correct indications for your phone.

If you have PANASONIC KXTG6641 Answer 1571, PANASONIC KXTG6641 Call Minder, or a similar service, you may need to change the Answer delay setting on your phone (the number of times the phone will ring before the answering machine takes the call) to ensure the answering machine takes the call before the network answering service.
PANASONIC KXTG6641 Answer 1571 will answer the call after 7 rings.
PANASONIC KXTG6641 Call Minder answers after 0, 4, 7 or 10 rings (you can change this yourself).
Details on these services are available from www.Panasonic kxtg6641.com/help or call 0800 800 150. See your user guide for instructions on how to change the Answer delay setting. If for example you have PANASONIC KXTG6641 1571, make sure you do not set the ring delay to more than 5 rings.
If you have a fax machine connected to the same line as your answering machine you may need to change the Answer delay settings to ensure the answering machine takes the call before the fax machine.
See your fax machine and phone user guide for instructions on how to adjust the Answer delay settings.
Check the loudspeaker/playback volume setting. If you have set it too low you may not hear playback of any messages that have been recorded. There is usually a Vol+/Vo-% button to adjust the loudspeaker/playback volume but if you need help, see your user guide for instructions..
