Hello, according to this site error 17 means there is a problem with the drum unit, drum board, or drum fuse. If you are comfortable taking the printer apart you can try to troubleshoot the problem yourself; otherwise you should contact a printer repair company. The toner cartridge on this printer is an all-in-one cartridge, meaning the drum unit is part of the toner cartridge, so trying a new toner cartridge would be a good first step.
