You will need to let the car warm but not by running it because that may worsen the situation. Pour hot water into the overflow coolant bottle to replace or drain out the coolant, replace it with 50/50 coolant mix. Causes of this are poor car maintenance and overheating.

How much does Replacing engine coolant cost?

The cost of a coolant or antifreeze change will depend on the type and size of your vehicle. On average you can expect to pay between $100 and $200 for a standard coolant change.

Is Replacing engine coolant necessary?

So why should I change it? Answer: The appearance of engine coolant (commonly called anti-freeze) has very little to do with its condition or the need to replace it. Replacing the engine coolant should be a part of all regularly scheduled maintenance programs as recommended by your vehicle's manufacturer.
