just do this :::Home button>Settings>Settings>Phone>Network then Set this to GSM,, then if you want to go back your packet data just back it to 3g connections or option2 ::MENU>Settings>Connectivity>Destinations>Internet then select the accesspoint & Options>delete

This will help uou to turn off your data connection
