You will have a phone number that will stay the same until you change it.

Actually, it depends on whether you are using the free app, or if you are paying for their service. If you are using the free app, it doesn't give you a single assigned number. The Free app just pulls phone numbers from a pool. Allegedly, if the person you are calling has caller ID, they can call you back at that number and it will reach you; but I haven't tried that, so I don't know how well it works.

If you are paying for their service, your phone number will remain the same until you change it.
