How Do I Get My Landline Phone To Work With The Magic Jack?

I downloaded the magicjack and received a new phone number but now I cannot get my landline phone to ring when I dial the number. I just get a recording saying the persons you are trying to reach are unavailable and to leave a message.

Not sure what you mean by landline phone - but will take a stab at this - do you mean your 'home phone' in terms of a physical cordless or corded phone - that is able to plug into the magic jack that is connected to your computer? If so - you simply plug it in to the magic jack, while your computer is turned off, then start the computer and let it come up naturally, wait for a minute or two - as it does take some time to boot up. It should then work just fine.

Regarding your actual hardwired landline from the phone company - it won't work on this phoneline - if thats what you're thinking. The phone line from the phone company is a separate thing, and the magic jack works over your internet signal - rather than the internet phone line per se. I hope that helps, but I'm guessing you already have this worked out since its been so long.
