The flashing arrows on your LiftMaster 8165 garage door opener indicate a diagnostic code of 3 up and 2 down. This means that the opener experienced a power outage and needs to locate the travel location.

To fix this, you need to reprogram the travel limits for your garage door opener. This is a simple process that can be done following the instructions in your owner's manual.

If you are not comfortable reprogramming the travel limits yourself, you can contact a professional garage door repair technician for assistance.

Here are the steps on how to reprogram the travel limits for your LiftMaster 8165 garage door opener:

Disconnect the power to the garage door opener at the breaker box.

Press and hold the up and down buttons on the garage door opener control panel simultaneously for 3 seconds.

Release the buttons and wait for the yellow lights on the control panel to stop flashing.

Close the garage door manually.

Reconnect the power to the garage door opener at the breaker box.

Press the up button on the garage door opener control panel.

The garage door will open and then stop automatically once it has reached the fully open position.

Press the down button on the garage door opener control panel.

The garage door will close and then stop automatically once it has reached the fully closed position.

Your garage door opener's travel limits have now been reprogrammed.

If you are still having problems with your garage door opener after following these steps, you can contact LiftMaster customer support for assistance.
