Plugged In But Not Charging?

My 3 or 4 month old computer says plugged in and not charging but i dont know how to fix that. it turns off the second i unplug the charger. because it says plugged in and not charging i assume it is a software problem and i was wondering if this is covered in the warranty or how i could fix it. thanks.
