Output Sound From Mitsubishi Dlp Not Working. Hdmi Wired. ????

wired lg by hdmi output jack to mistsubishi dlp tv. can no redirect sound to lg. there are hdmi input jacks on the lg, is there a second hdmi attachment required?? one hdmi output, one hdmi input?? if this is the case will not work. tv has three hdmi jacks, used as follows one for cable, one for 3d, now one for lg stereo. question is how to obtain use of lg stereo for output from television?
