Jvc Hd61g887 - No Picture/sound. Red Lamp Indicator On. Power Bar Lights Up

I recently acquired a HD61G887 DLP TV...  It is very clean and looks almost brand new in appearance.  When I power it up, the front light blue power indicator bar lights up, along with the red "LAMP" indicator light, right above it, which blinks rapidly.  There is no sound, fans, or any other activity.  After a few minutes, the TV power bar shuts off, but the red "Lamp" indicator continues to flash... When I got the TV, it was missing the entire bulb and housing unit.  I was hoping, if I put a new bulb and housing unit it, it would fire up and work.  I did buy a new one, inserted it, and screwed it in... (VERY EASY) hoping it would fire up.  However, when I turn it on, I get the same results.  The bulb does not light up and there is still no other sounds or anything coming from the TV....  Just the power light on the front and the lamp indicator light... NOTE: I do not think this would make a difference but it may... There is NO COVER for the bulb housing unit on the side of the TV, so although the bulb and housing unit is solidly intact and secure, the plastic side door or compartment is still open and the outer plastic side of the bulb housing unit is exposed to view.
