wish to add laptop to printer as well as the desktop - desktop OK and working but laptop not printing to it?

Based on your description, I assume that there is no problem with the hardware part of your HP Photosmart 5520 printer device. The possible problem for this is the driver software. There might be no compatible driver software installed on your laptop computer that is why it is not possible to printer.
The best solution for this is to download the driver software and install it on your laptop computer. You can download it here:
