Hp 5515 Not Printing/photocopying

I recently got my HP printer and have only used it once before and today I was attempting to photocopy a black and white document and the first sheet it sent out had lines across it in the form of what I was trying to photocopy but the full page did not come out and after that, ever page it printed was blank with no ink on it at all. When I checked the ink levels, it tells me that I have full black ink cartridge.
