My Hp Psc 2500 Currently Works As The Printer For My Mac, How To Set Up To Scan?

is there anything I need to do with my HP PSC 2500 to have my MAC recognize it as a scanner. At the current time it recognizes that it is a printer but it does not show up as a scanner. Suggestions?

I found this on the HP site regarding MAC's. NOTE:Scan support for many HP All-in-Ones is included with the HP software available through Apple Software Update. To scan, use Preview , Image Capture or the Scan icon from the print driver queue. However this is the link to the HP site for the PSC2500

I had the same problem after I upgraded my Mac OS to 10.6.8. I didn't have issue before this. I found out online that the installation software is not compatible with my new OS. But I still got it to work wirelessly as a printer but not as a scanner.

To make the scanner work, the solution for me is to connect the Hp Psc 2500 printer via USB cable and share the printer over the network.

Hope this works for you too.
