Really Slow Machine

I have a laptop (HP Dv6707us Entertament, AMD64 Athlon X2, 1.9Ghz, 150GB HD, 2GB Ram) , i put on it windows 7 64bit. It is SLOW AS A SLUG after the last microsoft update. takes atleast 7 full minutes to pull up any window. I dont understand why this is so slow. I have worked on several other computers of this type (HP Both Desktop and Laptops) and never come across this issue before. I dont know what to do next. It also takes a LONG time to shut down. it says "waiting for programs running in the background" when there is only one program or NO program running. It comes up with IE when i am not even running IE. Can someone please help me with this.

Hello. This problem was occurred with me too... so i did too many researches online.... So check out what you have to do.

1. You need a paid antivirus. I strongly recommend QuickHeal Internet security.

2. After you install it on your machine do a custom scan.. Tick mark every file ..each and every. If you use too much internet and download many software please enable the firewall.

3. The scan will take upto 2 hours. After it go to the start button and search for 'Uninstall Programs'

4. Uninstall Each and every thing which you do not use .

5. If you use proxy or vpn applications on your machine. Then i strongle recommend you to uninstall all. If you want to use VPN service then you can download HotSpot shield VPN.

6. Do this step only if you have done the 4th step! Go to My Computer and then go to C drive. Then go to program files. You would be able to see all files you have installed previously but now you have uninstalled them. So you delete those files.

7.Go to my computer and the go to C drive and then go to users. Go to your main user then go to Downloads section. You will see your downloads there. Delete all of the setups which are intsalled onto your machine. If there are some movies or videos or even songs please move them to the F drive.

8. If you usually install all your programs onto other drives other than C drive than please uninstall all those files and after uninstalling please delete all the folders.
