Compact Presario Cq60 Laptop - Wireless Connection

I have a friend with this brand of computer - CQ60-410US.  We are unable to connect it to the internet.  We get a message that it can't find any networks.  I am wondering if there is a switch for the wireless that may have gotten turned off.

Your Compaq CQ60-410us laptop cannot connect to the Internet because the driver software may not be installed or corrupted. Remember that you canno use the Wireless/LAN adapter of your device without the driver software installed. You can download the latest driver software for this device here:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/compaq-presario-cq60-notebook-pc-series/model/3979078

Install the driver software and restart your computer. Try to connect to the internet again.
