My Printer Just Keeps Flashing 'refer To Printer Documentation' And Won't Print

I looked at the manual but it just says to geet tech support.  Before it started flashing "Refer to printer documentation it was printing REALLY slowly and the print was not clear.

I have the answer!  Just replace both black and color cartridges with brand new ones (not refilled ones), even if they are not empty.  That will do it.  Don't know why, it just works.  I use refilled cartridges from Costco as well as new ones when the old ones are no longer refillable.  This has happened to me twice over the last couple years.  Perhaps the copier can't read the cartridge for some reason.
