How Can I Flash The Firmware On A Compact Flash On A Color Laserjet 4700 Printer

Basically I have a CLJ 4700dn printer with a bad firmware. The display panel lights up, but is blank and the LED is on a solid green and amber light. The attention LED is the one with the amber light. To be more specific, nothing on the formatter board works (which I'm assuming the data on the CF card tells which devices to turn on). Power is working, fans are turning throughout the printer. I've even replaced the formatter board. Any suggestions on how to upgrade the CF card with the current firmware without spending $60+ on a new card? I find that to be a little ridiculous since I have all the tools at my disposal and could do it myself with the right software.
