HelpOwl used to offer points for several different activities, including asking questions and reviewing products. Now the two main ways you can earn points are by answering other users' questions and by providing product manuals.

The best method for earning points on HelpOwl is to answer questions. This option affords you the opportunity to earn more points for the effort that you put in.

Immediately upon answering a question, you'll earn 100 points (even if someone else has already answered the same question). If your answer is marked as "Accepted" (by either the person that asked the question or by HelpOwl staff) you'll earn an additional 1000 points. For every "Helpful" vote that your answer receives (from any HelpOwl user) you'll earn an additional 10 points, which may not seem like a lot but it can add up if you write quality answers.

This model of awarding points aims to reward high-quality answers, so take your time to craft a well-written, informative answer rather than opting for the "pray-and-spray" method of answering as many questions as you can without putting much effort in.
