Elliptical Resistance Is Very High All Of A Sudden

The resistance on my H35e elliptical suddenly has gotten very high even at the lowest setting of 1. At a resistance level of 3 it is almost impossible to move. The resistance button works and the resistance still changes, but it is just very high even at a level 1. This just happened and I am looking for support on what may have caused it and how to resolve it.
