First and foremost, make sure that power to the pump has been cut off. Unplug the pump if possible. Here are some steps to follow
* Disconnect the pump from the plumbing system
* Remove the strainer housing cover and check for any debris or obstructions
* Check the pump shaft to ensure it is spinning freely. - Check electrical connections and wiring for any loose or broken connections
* Check the switches in the pump to ensure they are functioning properly
* Check the threaded connections for suction leaks.
* Make sure that the pump suction and outlet ports have not been forced past the molded-in thread stops.
