Microwave ovens use a magnetron tube similar to those used in Radar and microwave communications transmitters.  These are vacuum tubes and they fail.  It sounds like the tube died.  It will require a service shop to replace.

The unit comes on, like the light and control board, but doesn't heat food ? Most likely the unit has a problem on the high power side. The megatron may burn out but most offen it doesn't. Megatons are very reliable. It could be a bad capacitor or bad diode. Maybe a bad high volt transformer. Do not work on the high voltage side unless you know how to do it safely!!! It also could be an open or shorted high limit sensor.
