Microsoft's 'automatic Update' For Xp And Xp-pro Users That Installed Last Wee

Microsoft's "Automatic Update" for XP and XP-Pro users that installed last week has crashed Thousands of PCs!  Microsoft is acknowledging this problem and is helping users for free to get they're XP PCs up and running again.  The problem is the user must have the original Windows XP installation CD to repair the problem because they have to have the "matching keyed" Windows software that was installed on their machine, or the fix can't be done that Will save all of their configuration settings, or get back to a previously working configuration. Problem is box makers like Gateway do not provide their buyers with pure Windows installation Software.  Buyers get a vender re-install CD, not a pure Windows install CD. Microsoft is sending all of us with crashed machines back to the makers of our boxes to obtain A Windows XP or XP-Pro CD keyed to their machine. More problems:  I have a Gateway Model GT5018E with XP-Pro and Media Center Edition 2005.  But the "SN" number I have under the bar code on a white sticker on the rear of the PC seems not to match with anyone I talk to at Gateway.  In fact, I have what seems to be other such numbers on stickers piled on top of each other on a gray Gateway sticker with support contact info on the side of the PC? The top number is: RN5708601-0009.Under that is: RN5708601-0014.Under that is: S/NO: CCT5A 810 01580 Again, it's a Model GT5018E So to avoid wiping clean my 250 GB hard drive I need to obtain a Windows XP-Pro install CD with the matching key number to my Model GT5018E.   The Microsoft Sticker on the back of the PC reads as follows:--------------------------------------------------------->Windows XP Media Center 2005Product Key XR4BH F8HWD 237VK BCRGH 8MGTDUnder the barcode: 00045-089-520-401Label not to be sold separately X10-60266Date: 2004-------------------------------------------------------> Microsoft is no longer selling Windows XP-Pro, which wouldn't save my settingsand Apps anyway.I didn't like Vista and I don't want to migrate to Windows 7. To think that Microsoft is sending me back to you for help is a joke. How could you sort this out by finding the Windows XP Media Center2005 with the Product Key Code - burn it - and send it to me? Is this possible??? What I don't need is another copy of the "Gateway Restore DVD for the GT5018E"which I already have.
