Gateway Fx4710 Stopped Running Windows 10 Two Years Ago.
I have tried everything. The power supply is fine, memory is fine. I can access the BIOS and have made some changes to try to figure it out. I tried to update the BIOS, but can't find it in the Gateway site.I tried to install Windows 10 and Ubuntu, with no success. Sometimes it gives me a checksum error. Have replaced the BIOS battery. Kind of running out of options. Hate to take this to the refurbishing place.

This computer ran Windows 10 for several years without problems. So, the CPU was adequate at that time. Only updates by Microsoft could be the reason, but it doesn't explain why it will not install other, less demanding, OS.
