Time To Charge A New Battery
How long does it take to charge a new Nuvi 50LM battery the first time?

The charging time of your Garmin nuvi 50LM device vary based on the default amount of battery charge already there. I suggest that you follow these steps before charging your battery. This will extend the battery life of your device.
1. Drain all the battery charge of your device upon purchase. The default battery charge is called the manufacturer's battery charge. You have to drain this charge completely/until empty.
2. After completely draining the battery charge, charge the battery until it is fully charge. Remember not to use the device while it is charging.
