Led Display Lights For 1998 Century Buick Auto Climate Control Unit Is Malfuncti

All of the mode selection lights are functional but you can't see what temperature it is and if the fan is on high or low (the small box area on the unit). Can this possibly be the cause of a vehicle overheating?Remember it's the Dual Automatic Climate Control Unit for a 1998 Buick Century
